<p><strong><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman';">WHAT: </span></strong><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman';">Koi in Evanston’s new sushi chef Kenny Tan’s passion for developing exciting sushi creations is demonstrated in this exclusive monthly dining experience. Guests at the Chef’s Table are seated at the intimate sushi bar with a full view of Tan’s work area and will experience the creative process first-hand as they are treated to 8-courses. They will watch as their menu samplings are handcrafted, paired with sake and explained by the talented sushi team. For added viewing, Tan’s deft knife skills and artistic talents will be shown via live camera feed on an HD screen above the sushi bar.</p>

<p><strong>WHAT</strong>:           This month’s Wine Bash features an array of wines from Oak Grove Reserve Wines, produced in California&#8217;s cool coastal regions. The tasting will include samples of the 2010 Reserve Zinfandel, 2010 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, 2010 Reserve Petite Sirah, 2011 Pinot Grigio, 2011 Reserve Sauvignon Blanc and 2011 Reserve Viognier. Wines are paired with festive wine snacks by Executive Chef John Coletta.</p>

<p>Quartino will feature these wines throughout the month of June at the special price of $20 per bottle.</p>

<p>Chef John Coletta will present festive seasonal fare including grilled zucchini with sun-dried tomatoes, roasted peppers, beet and walnut salad along with passed assorted Neapolitan pizze, bruschetta and Italian cured meats and assorted olives.</p>

QUAY ANNOUNCES NEW MENUS AND CHEF-OWNED FARM<br />
</span><em><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman';">Fresh Grown Ingredients from Chef Dan Marquis’ Mill Road Farms</span></em></strong><strong><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman';"> </span></strong></p>
<p><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman';">Quay Restaurant &amp; Bar announces Executive Chef Dan Marquis now owns and operates a 20-acre farm located in Sheffield, Illinois call Mill Road Farms. Using fresh grown herbs and microgreens from the farm, Chef Marquis has created new lunch and dinner menus, available now. The affordable new lunch menu will range in price from $6 &#8211; $18 and lunch, and dinner menu highlights include Suckling Pig Porchetta, Lamb “Au Poivre”, Chilled Asparagus Soup and more. Samples of the menus are below and complete menus are available upon request.  </span><strong><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman';">Photos available upon request.</span></strong></p>
<p><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman';">Mill Road Farms has been in Chef Marquis’ family for four generations. Chef Marquis explains “Our produce is started in the early spring in our greenhouse and transplanted to the fields. We are dedicated to organic and sustainable practices. I have hand-picked all of the produce to be grown according to the menu I have designed for Quay, taking the farm to table approach to a whole new level.”</p>
<p>Half of the land is dedicated to organic produce and the other half is dedicated to live stock for making handcrafted charcuterie, cheeses, beehives for honey, and wild crafting. Over the year, Mill Road Farms will grow a variety of herbs (purple basil, mountain mint, rosemary, stinging nettle, etc), lettuce, greens, berries, tree fruit like heirloom apples, cherries, peaches, pears and figs along with beets, squash, dragon carrots, Thai eggplant and more, which Chef Marquis plans to incorporate into Quay’s spring, summer and fall menus.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman';">For future plans, Chef Marquis says “We are in the process of building housing for Berkshire Hogs, Sheep, Rabbit, Chicken, and a few game birds. We have created pastures for grazing on grass, alfalfa, along with the natural vegetation. We will also be introducing various herbs for them to graze on as well as organic grains. This will be introduced next year and look forward to making a variety of charcuteries and cheese along with the meat cuts for the menu at Quay.”</span></p>

<p><strong>Is the Keratin treatment safe for my hair?</strong><br />
Maxine Salon uses the safest Keratin treatment on the market. I have never received any complaints on the way a person feels during or after a treatment.</p>
<p><strong>Will Keratin make my hair flat?</strong><br />
The first few weeks after the treatment one’s hair will not have as much body as it usually does, but after it has been shampooed 4 or 5 times, the hair will bounce back with its usual body.</p>
<p><strong>What will the treatment do to my hair?</strong><br />
It will smooth out most frizz, cut down drying time and it will loosen one’s curls. The treatment will not completely straighten one’s hair.</p>
<p><strong>Can I receive treatment if I have color-treated or relaxed hair?</strong><br />
Yes, it is safe for most chemically treated hair.</p>

<p><strong>Before booking an appointment, what should clients know?</strong></p>
<p>· The treatment takes between 2-3 hours, depending on the length and thickness of one’s hair. The client should know that after the treatment, the hair can’t be washed for 3 days, or get wet in any way (vigorous exercise, etc).</p>
<p><strong>Post Keratin treatment, what is the best way to take care of your hair?</strong></p>
<p>· The one requirement is to use sulfate-free shampoo post treatment.</p>
<p><strong>How long does the hair stay fairly straight before the client would need to come back for a follow-up treatment?</strong></p>
<p>· The Keratin treatment usually lasts 3 months after the first treatment. It will last longer if you wash your hair less frequently. After your first treatment, the treatments seem to last longer because there is a cumulative effect on the hair.</p>
