CHICAGO CUT STEAKHOUSE HOSTED PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA ON APRIL 2

President Barack Obama visited Chicago Cut Steakhouse April 2 as part of a roundtable benefitting the Democratic National Committee. With a group of 26 guests, the group was hosted by Mesirow Financial Chairman and CEO Richard Price.  “The opportunity to host and spend unfiltered time with the President was a tremendous opportunity,” said Price. “We knew Chicago Cut Steakhouse would be the perfect spot because of their iconic location, superior service and classic Chicago cuisine.”

After the roundtable was completed, the President took photos with members of the Chicago Police Department, State Police as well as members of the Chicago Fire Department. “This is a once in a lifetime moment,” said Nakia Fenner, a Chicago police sergeant. “This is history in the making. I’m honored and humbled. I look forward to sharing this with my department, my children and my church,” said Verdi Allen, Deputy District Chief of the Chicago Fire Department.

The President then dined with a small group. “As a native Chicagoan, we were deeply honored that the President chose Chicago Cut Steakhouse for his special evening,” said Chicago Cut Steakhouse owner David Flom. “We are privileged to have had the President and other Chicago leaders in our space and look forward to more visits in the future,” said co-owner Matt Moore.

CHICAGO CUT STEAKHOUSE AND THE LOCAL CHICAGO CELEBRATE CHICAGO’S 177th ANNIVERSARY

This March, Chicago Cut Steakhouse and The Local Chicago will celebrate Chicago’s 177th anniversary with specials featuring the city’s most savored dishes since its incorporation in 1837. Chicago Cut’s signature Bone-In Rib Eye, slightly charred on the outside with a warm and red center, dry-aged and butchered on site, will be available at both restaurants for $54. Additionally, the restaurants have teamed up with Black Dog Gelato to create a Cracker Jack Gelato Sundae for $10 as a nod to Chicago’s favorite snack.

“The success of our steakhouse is, in large part, due to Chicago’s long-standing commitment to quality food,” said owner David Flom. “Our service is a reflection of the city’s rich history and we look forward to making this celebratory day special for Chicagoans.” Since opening in the fall of 2010, Chicago Cut Steakhouse has become a staple in the Chicago restaurant scene and a favorite for locals and visitors. The restaurant has played host to a number of well-known athletes, celebrities, and politicians from Chicago and around the country.

The special dishes will be available on the city’s anniversary, Tuesday, March 4 at both locations. In addition, they will distribute the iconic Chicago flag pins worn by all of their servers.

CHICAGO CUT STEAKHOUSE FIRST IN NATION TO POUR PRISONER WINE COMPANY’S NEW EXCLUSIVE WHITE BY THE GLASS

This October, Chicago Cut Steakhouse, known for having an extensive iPad wine list, will be the only restaurant in the country to pour Prisoner Wine Company’s highly sought after Blindfold White by the glass. The wine has become more rare as its retail sales have ceased in an effort to keep it exclusive.

Recently honored in USA Today Travel as one of the Top 10 Steakhouses in Chicago and by Yahoo as one of the Top 5 Steakhouses in the country, Chicago Cut Steakhouse is a natural selection for Prisoner Wine Company Owner Agustin Huneeus.

“We are big supporters of this winery and feel honored to be pouring it exclusively at Chicago Cut Steakhouse,” says proprietor David Flom. Blindfold is the answer to Prisoner Wine Owner Agustin Huneeus’ quest to find less one-dimensional white wines. Huneeus says, “The result is an interesting, fun white wine, which is not as big and dense as the Chardonnay, yet fuller and more complex than Sauvignon Blanc. It is a carefully executed composition of various varietals from excellent sources.”

Blindfold is available for $20 by the glass and $100 for a bottle, and is known for enhancing food accompaniment while serving as an aperitif. Chicago Cut Steakhouse has also added new wines by the glass to their extensive iPad wine list. These new wines include Paul Hobbs Crossbarn Chardonnay, $16, Ferrari Carano Fume Blanc, $10, Argyle Sparkling Wine, $15, Tattinger Champagne, $25, Achaval Ferrer “Quimera” Malbec, $15, Guigal “Crozes-Hermitage” Rhone Blend, $17, and Domaine Serene Pinot Noir, $24. Full beverage menu available upon request.

In addition, Chicago Cut Steakhouse has made updates to their iPad wine menu program including the ability to create an account in seconds. By simply imputing an email address, account holders can mark their favorite wines, give personal rankings and add notes, comments or any other pertinent information. When the session ends, the iPad is logged out and when guests return to the restaurant, they can simply sign in using their email address.

About Chicago Cut Steakhouse
Restaurant industry veterans David Flom and Matt Moore opened the doors to Chicago Cut Steakhouse in September 2010.  Situated along the historical Chicago River and serving only the finest cuisine, Chicago Cut Steakhouse truly redefines the traditional steakhouse experience.  It is the only steakhouse in the city to exclusively serve USDA-certified prime steaks, which are butchered and dry aged on the premises. Serving breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner and offering private dining options, the restaurant features a dramatic dining room, vibrant bar area and sprawling outdoor patio. Additionally, the owners have introduced an iPad wine list, which offers guests a wine selecting experience unrivaled by their peers.  With 40 iPads providing video, images and detailed information about each wine and their origins, Chicago Cut Steakhouse ensures a memorable and unique dining experience at every level. In April 2012, Chicago Cut Steakhouse was featured as one of America’s Top Ten Steakhouses in USA TODAY. Most recently, Yahoo named the restaurant one of the Top Five Steakhouses in America.

CHICAGO CUT STEAKHOUSE CELEBRATES 3 YEARS TODAY

Chicago Cut Steakhouse proprietors, David Flom and Matt Moore, are proud to announce the restaurant’s 3-year anniversary on September 20th. Recently honored by Yahoo as one of the Top Five Steakhouses in America, the restaurant’s balance between steakhouse tradition and culinary foresight have made Chicago Cut a local hot-spot since opening in 2010.

“We are elevating the expectation with dishes that go beyond tradition, while preserving the experience that people desire from a steakhouse,” said David Flom.

Thanks to Executive Chef Travis Strickland of Tennessee’s famed Blackberry Resort Farm, Chicago Cut’s new vision for the future of steakhouses has been fully realized. “The dishes have evolved with creative conceptual ingredients that mirror the risks being taken in Chicago’s culinary scene,” said Strickland.

Without leaving tradition on the back burner, Strickland has brought dishes such as Peach Burrata Salad, Thick cut Nueske Bacon, and Maine Diver Scallops to the menu, bringing a new spin to the old world charm of the restaurant.

Restaurant industry veterans, Matt Moore and David Flom, have sought to provide the highest-quality ingredients in the city since the restaurant opened. Chicago Cut Steakhouse exclusively serves USDA-certified prime steaks, which are butchered and dry aged on premises. In addition, the development of their iPad wine list has brought an element of restaurant technology that very few have seen.

“We have seen the business take off in ways we never expected,” says Matt Moore. “As we continue to grow, we are thankful for those who call Chicago Cut Steakhouse home and look forward to serving the city for many more years,” said Matt Moore.

As a special gift to thank the restaurant’s patrons, on Friday, September 20, Chicago Cut Steakhouse will be giving out complimentary glasses of Dominus 2005, a Wine Advocate 96 point product made by Industry Legend Christian Moueix, to the first 115 reservations beginning at 12 p.m.

Today, they are best known for their four estate wines: The Cabernet Sauvignon Eisele Vineyard, Altagracia, Syrah Eisele Vineyard and Sauvignon Blanc Eisele Vineyard.

Guests will be have the rare opportunity to try the Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah, the Eisele Cabernet Sauvignon, Alta Garcia, a Bordeaux style blend, and an older secret vintage at the event. Menu highlights will include a Sunchoke Soup with poached lobster and summer truffle, House-made Pappardelle with Wild Boar Ragu and Japanese A5 Wagyu Striploin. Full menu available below.

In addition, Hayes will lead guests in a conversation about the Araujo Estate. He is a trained sommelier who joined the vineyard in 2010 and today oversees the commercial distribution. Prior to joining Araujo, Hayes spent seven years working for Chef Thomas Keller  overseeing the wine programs at Per Se, The French Laundry, Ad Hoc and Bouchon. In addition, he has worked with Rocco DiSpirito in New York and Emeril Lagasse in New Orleans. Hayes and Chicago Cut Steakhouse Proprietor David Flom available upon request.
