After three successful years of bringing delicious barbecue offerings to Chicago’s Gold Coast, Chicago q invites guests to celebrate their anniversary on Wednesday, September 4. From Tuesday, September 3 through Sunday, September 8, the restaurant will be offering a special three-course prix fixe menu, voted on by their Facebook fans, for $30 and a bourbon flight featuring their three most popular selections, Evan Williams “q” Bourbon, Bulleit Bourbon and Angel’s Envy Bourbon, for $13.

“We have been lucky to experience much success in the short time we have been open,” says Chef/Partner Lee Ann Whippen. “It is to the community that we attribute that success and we look forward to what’s ahead.”

Chicago q has called on this community to help select the options on the three-course prix fixe menu. Now through Tuesday, August 27, guests can select any three dishes and share them on Chicago q’s facebook page, One lucky voter, whose selection is chosen, will win a complimentary dinner for four during the anniversary week.

In addition, Guests can feel good about enjoying Chef Whippen’s award winning dishes while supporting a great cause. Throughout the celebration, the restaurant encourages guests to donate to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). Donations will be accepted at the front desk and on the actual anniversary, Wednesday, September 4, 10% of all proceeds will be donated to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS).

Chicago Cut Steakhouse will host an exclusive Araujo Estate Winery Dinner with their Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Jimmy Hayes, on Wednesday, September 11. For $700 per person, guests are invited to taste a selection of the winery’s finest selection while savoring an elegant five-course dinner from Chicago Cut Steakhouse Executive Chef Travis Strickland.

The Araujo Winery, located in Northeast Napa Valley, is known for its 38-acre Eisele Vineyard, a winery and cave complex designed specifically to vinify the special indigenous grapes. Known as one of the most respected Cabernet Sauvignon Vineyards in Napa Valley, the estate has been bottling wines for over 120 years. Today, they are best known for their four estate wines: The Cabernet Sauvignon Eisele Vineyard, Altagracia, Syrah Eisele Vineyard and Sauvignon Blanc Eisele Vineyard.

Guests will be have the rare opportunity to try the Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah, the Eisele Cabernet Sauvignon, Alta Garcia, a Bordeaux style blend, and an older secret vintage at the event. Menu highlights will include a Sunchoke Soup with poached lobster and summer truffle, House-made Pappardelle with Wild Boar Ragu and Japanese A5 Wagyu Striploin. Full menu available below. 

In addition, Hayes will lead guests in a conversation about the Araujo Estate. He is a trained sommelier who joined the vineyard in 2010 and today oversees the commercial distribution. Prior to joining Araujo, Hayes spent seven years working for Chef Thomas Keller  overseeing the wine programs at Per Se, The French Laundry, Ad Hoc and Bouchon. Porkchop teams up with River North Beer, a local Chicago beer distributer, for their 312 raffle event Thursday, August 29. Customers will have a chance to win a custom Goose Island 312 Solé Micklish Urban Utility Bicycle. Starting at 7 p.m., attendees will receive one raffle ticket for each $4 Goose Island 312 Urban Wheat Ale they purchase. There is no limit on how many pints (tickets) customers can purchase. River North Beer distributer, Ben Parker, will start raffling off the prizes at 9 p.m. The grand prize winner must be present to claim the 312 Sole Micklish Bicycle. Porkchop Celebrates the Air and Water Show
Friday, August 16 – Sunday, August 18
Porkchop invites Chicagoans to relax on their Randolph street patio before, during and after the Air and Water Show this August. Guests can enjoy festive Red Bull Bourbon Lemonade cocktails, available in red, white or blue; $7 (made with Special Edition Red Bull) throughout the weekend. Additionally, the restaurant offers Saturday and Sunday brunch for those who want to fill up before heading to the show at North Avenue beach.

Weather Mark Tavern Welcomes Air and Water Show Attendees
Saturday, August 17- Sunday, August 18
Weather Mark Tavern invites Air and Water show attendees to stop by before the show for brunch featuring $5 SKYY Vodka Bloody Marys and Screwdrivers as well as bottomless mimosa’s; $13.95 with purchase of an entree.   

Attendees can stop by after the festivities and cool off with one of many nautically inspired cocktails including Weather Mark Cooler (Pyrat Rum, Cruzan Orange, Cointreau and pineapple juice), Almost Stormy (10 Cane Rum, Cruzan Citrus, ginger ale and lemonade), Pirate’s Punch (Mount Gay Rum, Cruzan Citrus, cranberry and orange juice) and Three Sheets to the Wind ((Patron Silver, Grand Marnier, Absolut Citron, and a bit of lemonade). Weather Mark Tavern, located in Chicago’s South Loop, will host a free sampling of Mount Gay Black Barrel Rum, the newest craft rum from master blender Allen Smith. Guests are invited to sample the new rum Friday, August 2 from 8- 10 p. m.

The new blend is created using the unique process of finishing where the blended rum is matured for a second time in deeply charred Bourbon oak barrels. The rum boasts a warm, medium body with a long finish and bold spice taste that is balanced with oaky vanilla and sweet caramel. 

Attendees can also enjoy Weather Mark’s Friday specials including “All You Can Eat” Fish Fry (Cruzan rum battered fish, steak fries, red cabbage coleslaw, and homemade tartar; $9.95) and $3 Bud Light and Miller Lite drafts.

Cityscape Bar, located on the 15th floor of the Holiday Inn Chicago Mart Plaza, will host their monthly events on the second and third Thursdays of August.


On Thursday, August 8, the bar will feature Cityscape’s Pinnacle Whipped Vodka. Brand Ambassador, Jessica Yaskowitz will teach attendees to prepare the Orange Dreamsicle with Pinnacle Whipped Vodka, Orange Juice and Sierra Mist Soda. Small bites will also be available for guests. Recipe available upon request.


The following week, on Thursday, August 15, guests are invited to sip and swirl an array of wines while enjoying stunning panoramic views of River North. This month’s will be led by Steve Kosirog of DFV Wines and feature:

  • Sequin Rose
  • Noble Vines 242 Sauvignon Blanc
  • Massimo Malbec


Patrons can also indulge in an assortment of small bites including antipasto trays, cheese and dried fruit. All attendees of “Vino with a View” will receive a buy one get one discount coupon for dinner at ItaliAsia Restaurant after the event or a future evening.
