Gemini Bistro Back to School Menu

GEMINI BISTRO WELCOMES KIDS BACK-TO-SCHOOL WITH THEIR X-SMALL MENU

 

WHAT:           The family-friendly Gemini Bistro welcomes kids back to school and suggests their X-Small Menu. The menu features kid-friendly entrées like Mac & Cheese (baked macaroni and cheese gratin), the Small Burger (Gemini Bistro burger, crispy frites or fruit), and Chef Jason Paskewitz’s Healthy Fare for Kids selection, the Grilled Chicken (petite chicken breast, green beans, red bliss potatoes). Healthy Fare for Kids is a grassroots initiative, which aims to improve the overall health of children in America by offering healthier food for kids at restaurants.

 

All X-Small menu items are available for $6.  Kids are welcome to toast with the adults with Gemini Bistro’s array of Kiddie Cocktails, like an old-fashioned Shirley Temple or Roy Rogers (Coca Cola, Grenadine, Cherries) for only $3.

 

Both the X-Small and the regular dinner menus are perfect for the whole family to enjoy al fresco on Gemini Bistro’s secluded patio. Tucked away on Dickens, out of the hustle and bustle of Lincoln Avenue, Gemini Bistro’s 40-seat patio provides a quiet oasis in which to enjoy Paskewitz’s American cuisine with French and Mediterranean influences.

About Chef Jason Paskewitz

Chef Paskewitz has over a decade of experience creating delicious dishes in some of Chicago’s finest kitchens (Wave, N9ne, Four Seasons) as well as being nationally recognized on The Food Network. Paskewitz, a Queens, New York native and graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, has adopted Chicago as his hometown and has found his true niche as Executive Chef/Partner of Gemini Bistro. Paskewitz’s seasonal menu and nightly specials showcase his experience and talent in executing straightforward, flavorful classics.

 

About Owners Anna and Ryan O’Donnell

Ryan O’Donnell, a chef at heart and a graduate of the culinary program at Kendall College Chicago, spent ten years in the kitchen before shifting his focus to roles in the “front of the house.” Ryan gained experience as the Chef de Cuisine at Miraval, a five star spa resort near Tucson, Arizona and Keefer’s restaurant, where he worked in the kitchen before learning the operations side of the business in the dining room. As General Manager/Partner of Gemini Bistro, O’Donnell has literally seen his culinary school business plan titled “Gemini Bistro” become a reality.

 

As residents of Lincoln Park, Paskewitz and the O’Donnell’s are proud to own and operate Gemini Bistro within their very own community.

Featuring Rockefeller and Wood Grilled Preparations

 

WHAT:           Lincoln Park hot spots Gemini Bistro and Rustic House are pleased to celebrate National Oyster Day on Sunday, August 5 with a weekend of oyster specials.

At Gemini Bistro, Chef Jason Paskewitz offers his rendition of Oysters Rockefeller on Saturday, August 4 and Sunday, August 5. Paskewitz, an East Coast transplant grew up enjoying this classic oyster preparation and is excited offer guests his interpretation.  The sweet and briny Wellfleet varieties are topped with spinach, Pernod cream, smoky bacon and Parmesan cheese and baked in the oven until crispy. The oysters are market price and served 4 per order.

Chicagoans are also invited to Rustic House to taste Paskewitz’s Wood Grilled Oysters on Saturday, August 4 and Sunday, August 5. The grill imparts a distinctive smoky flavor that cannot be accomplished otherwise.  He keeps the oysters in their shells and places them on the coolest part of the grill, allowing them to cook all the way through without burning.  They are finished with a topping of cajun spices, fresh lemon juice and romano cheese.  The oysters are market price and served 4 per order.

Paskewitz, a Queens, New York native and graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, has adopted Chicago as his hometown and has found his true niche as Executive Chef/Partner of Gemini Bistro.  Paskewitz’s seasonal menu and nightly specials showcase his experience and talent in executing straightforward, flavorful classics.

Ryan O’Donnell, a chef at heart and a graduate of the culinary program at Kendall College Chicago, spent ten years in the kitchen before shifting his focus to roles in the “front of the house.”  Ryan gained experience as the Chef de Cuisine at Miraval, a five star spa resort near Tucson, Arizona and Keefer’s restaurant, where he worked in the kitchen before learning the operations side of the business in the dining room.  As General Manager/Partner of Gemini Bistro, O’Donnell has literally seen his culinary school business plan titled “Gemini Bistro” become a reality.

 

As residents of Lincoln Park, Paskewitz and the O’Donnell’s are proud to own and operate Gemini Bistro and Rustic House within their very own community.

NEW SEASONAL MENU ADDITIONS

WHAT:           Rustic House, Lincoln Park’s hottest spot for fresh Midwestern dishes and quintessential American cuisine, celebrates summer with several new menu items.

With more than a decade of experience creating notable dishes in some of Chicago’s finest kitchens, Chef Jason Paskewitz’s menu at Rustic House showcases his experience and talent in executing straightforward, flavorful classics.

New dishes include Caprese Salad ($11) with heirloom tomatoes, watermelon and buffalo mozzarella;Pan Roasted Market Cod ($26) lemon herb crusted with summer veggies and cherry tomato vinaigrette;Wild Alaskan Halibut ($32) served with a sweet corn and Maine lobster succotash with pink-peppercorn beurre blanc; and Orecchiette Pasta ($21) with pulled Amish chicken, sun-dried tomatoes, chevre and sweet basil.

WHAT:           Lincoln Park neighborhood favorite Gemini Bistro celebrates summer with new menu items highlighting fresh, local ingredients and lighter, summer fare.

As always, Chef Jason Paskewitz looks to nearby Green City Market and local farms for sustainable, farm-to-table produce and proteins to bring the flavors of the season to the guests at Gemini Bistro.

New dishes include Heirloom Tomato Gazpacho ($9) with cilantro pesto and focaccia crisp; Beef Carpaccio ($14) with arugula, crispy capers, shaved parmesan and lemon aioli; Risotto ($14) with Hen of the Wood mushrooms, red wine reduction, parmesan and rosemary; Sesame Crusted Yellowfin Tuna($18) served with an Asian salad, ponzu vinaigrette and wasabi; Roasted Salmon ($22) with Savoy cabbage, smoked bacon and coriander vinaigrette; Lamb Porterhouse Chops ($29), pan fried with parmesan crust, garlicky spinach and fried lemon; and a Peach Crisp ($9) with cinnamon streusel and vanilla gelato.
