CITYSCAPE BAR AUGUST EVENTS

Cityscape Bar, located on the 15th floor of the Holiday Inn Chicago Mart Plaza, will host their monthly events on the second and third Thursdays of August.

 

On Thursday, August 8, the bar will feature Cityscape’s Pinnacle Whipped Vodka. Brand Ambassador, Jessica Yaskowitz will teach attendees to prepare the Orange Dreamsicle with Pinnacle Whipped Vodka, Orange Juice and Sierra Mist Soda. Small bites will also be available for guests. Recipe available upon request.

 

The following week, on Thursday, August 15, guests are invited to sip and swirl an array of wines while enjoying stunning panoramic views of River North. This month’s will be led by Steve Kosirog of DFV Wines and feature:

  • Sequin Rose
  • Noble Vines 242 Sauvignon Blanc
  • Massimo Malbec

 

Patrons can also indulge in an assortment of small bites including antipasto trays, cheese and dried fruit. All attendees of “Vino with a View” will receive a buy one get one discount coupon for dinner at ItaliAsia Restaurant after the event or a future evening.

Cityscape July Events

Italiasia Celebrates Chinese New Year

ITALIASIA CELEBRATES CHINESE NEW YEAR

In celebration of the Chinese New Year on Sunday, February 10, ItaliAsia Restaurant at the Holiday Inn Chicago Mart Plaza will feature a special prix-fixe menu. For $30 per person, guests can enjoy an appetizer, entrée and dessert.  Menu highlights include: Tempura Salad, a choice of entrees including Miso Duck Breast and Halibut and Ginger Pana Cotta. Complete menu available below

 

The Chinese New Year starts on the first day of the new moon and ends on the full moon 15 days later. It will be the Year of the Snake and is symbolic of progress.

Italiasia Cooking Demonstration Series

ITALIASIA COOKING DEMONSTRATION SERIES
The Art of Cacciatore

 

WHAT:          On Thursday, February 7, ItaliAsia hosts yet another installment in their cooking demonstration series. This month’s demonstration will focus on The Art of Cacciatore.

Cacciatore is Italian for “hunter” and in cuisine refers to a meal prepared “hunter style.” It is most commonly made with tomatoes, onions, herbs, bell peppers, wine and either braised chicken or rabbit.

 

At this demonstration, ItaliAsia Chef de Cuisine Johnny Foster will teach attendees how to make a delicious chicken cacciatore. As guests experience the creative culinary process, they will be treated to samples and wine pairings while enjoying beautiful views of the Chicago River.

Italiasia International Day of Italian Cuisines

ITALIASIA INTERNATIONAL DAY OF ITALIAN CUISINES 

WHAT:          ItaliAsia Restaurant, located in the Holiday Inn Chicago Mart Plaza, encourages patrons to celebrate International Day of Italian Cuisines, this January 17.

 

“The menu is designed to offer a kaleidoscope of flavors from Italy and Pan Asia, fusing the two tastes together to create an East meets West menu,” says Food and Beverage Director John Dexter.

 

Italian menu highlights include Pasta Bolognese, with pappardelle pasta, braised ground beef and pork, San Marzano tomatoes and Pecorino Cheese, $20, Bucatini with Meatballs, house made veal meatballs, bucatini pasta, marinara sauce and ricotta salata cheese, $18, Lobster Risotto Fra Diavlo, arborio rice, sake wine, fresh Maine lobster, San Marzano tomatoes, red chili flakes and fine herbs, $30, and Chicken Vesuvio, spit roasted half chicken with white wine, lemon, garlic, fresh oregano, oven roasted potato wedges and peas, $18.

 

In addition, ItaliAsia offers individual eight-inch thin crust pizzas. Varieties include Wild Mushroom, with provolone, mozzarella, shitake, cremini and button mushrooms and fine herbs, $9, Margherita, with fresh buffalo mozzarella, sliced roma tomatoes, extra virgin olive oil and frsh basil, $9, and Arugula and Pancetta, with bechamel sauce, pancetta, Parmigiano-reggiano cheese and baby arugula, $11. Full menu available upon request.

Chicagoans can enjoy the highly anticipated 70th Annual Golden Globes Awards at Cityscape Bar’s viewing party on Sunday, January 13. This year’s awards will be hosted by Amy Poehler and Tiny Fey. Patrons can sit back, relax and sip on an array of themed cocktails available all day for $8 each including: The Golden Globe Martini and The Nominee.

Guests who wish to enjoy a full dinner after the show can dine at ItaliAsia Restaurant located adjacent to Cityscape Bar where they will discover a menu offering a kaleidoscope of flavors from Italy and Pan Asia that creates a taste sensation of East meets West.

WHAT:          On Thursday, January 3, ItaliAsia hosts yet another installment in their cooking demonstration series. Just in time for National Soup Month, January’s demo will focus on The Art of Minestrone.

 

Minestrone is the one of the cornerstones of Italian Cuisine and is almost as common as pasta on Italian tables. It is a thick soup made with vegetables such as onions, celery, carrots and tomatoes. Pasta or rice and beans are often added. While there is no set recipe for minestrone, ItaliAsia Chef de Cuisine Johnny Foster will teach attendees how to make a delicious soup.
