LM RESTAURANT GROUP UNVEILS TROQUET RIVER NORTH

LM Restaurant Group is proud to introduce their thriving bar concept, Troquet, to Chicago’s River North neighborhood. The bar, opening today, Thursday, January 9, is the newest member in the LM Restaurant Group family, which aims to create a thriving French dining scene in Chicago that mimics what exists in Paris today. Troquet River North is located on the ground floor of the Hotel Felix at 111 West Huron Street, at the intersection of Clark Street.

“In France today, young chef’s open Troquets and offer fun, fresh, local foods in a casual bar atmosphere.” says Partners Stephan Outrequin, Nicole Quaisser and Martial Noguier. Troquet River North will be a neighborhood French bar focusing on wine and craft cocktails. Acclaimed Managing Chef Partner Martial Noguier, along with Chef de Cuisine Benoit Fliou, is overseeing all culinary aspects of the new venture and will grace his patrons with food from all regions of France. Fliou, a Paris-native, has worked in some of the best Troquets in Paris for the past 15 years.

The menu, created by these French chefs include:

  • Gambas bisque with Saffron Garlic Cream
  • Mussels with Fresh Thyme, Olive Oil and Lemon in packages
  • Albacore tuna ‘plancha’ with fennel and carrottes puree and anis beurre blanc
  • Roasted quail, egg quail, savoy cabbage and finger potatoes fricassee, pancetta
  • Roasted pork belly, with homemade whole grain mustard mashed potatoes, arugula

In addition, the bar will feature a full beverage program with craft cocktails and a wine draft system featuring both reds and whites. About Martial Noguier

Martial Noguier brings more than 25 years of culinary experience to LM Restaurant Group. Originally hailing from Paris, France, Noguier worked for a number of French chefs before coming to the United States. He continued to gain experience while serving as Executive Chef and Chef de Cuisine for various prestigious hotels and fine-dining establishments such as Patina in California and Citronelle at the Latham Hotel in Washington D.C. before relocating to Chicago. Noguier served as Executive Chef and Corporate Chef at the venerable Pump Room in the Omni Ambassador East hotel as well Executive Chef roles at one sixtyblue and at the Sofitel Chicago Water Tower Hotel, which included Café de Architectes. Noguier was named a multi-time James Beard Foundation Award semi-finalist. He opened Bistronomic in February of 2011, which was received with wide acclaim.

BRASSERIE BY LM HOSTS HOPOTHESIS BEER COMPANY FOR A SPECIAL BEER DINNER

Brasserie by LM and Hopothesis Beer Company are pleased to announce a special Beer Dinner on Thursday, January 16. The traditional French Brasserie will be offering a prix fixe menu, which includes beer pairings for $20 per person, not inclusive of tax or gratuity. The menu will be available from 5 to 9 p.m.

Spicy tomato sauce, crispy croutons

Paired with: Hopothesis Drafty Window farmhouse ale

About Two Brothers Brewery

Two Brothers Brewing Company was founded by Jim and Jason Ebel in late 1996. The business was envisioned by the brothers based on their entry into entrepreneurship with The Brewer’s Coop, a retail store catering to home beer and wine making. In 1992 The Brewer’s Coop opened its doors in Naperville, IL selling retail ingredients and equipment for the homebrewing community. The more they were surrounded by brewing, the more passionate they became about opening their own microbrewery. In early 1996 they decided to take the plunge and started writing a business plan. Several months later their dream became reality. Two Brothers Brewing Company is still 100% family owned.

LM BISTRO ANNOUNCES NEW BEVERAGE PROGRAM

As LM Bistro spearheads a series of changes to elevate the restaurant to be more reflective of the River North neighborhood, General Manager Jasper Nowell and Beverage Director Maura Davis unveil a modern beverage program to parallel these change.

“The intention driving these updates is to compliment the new menu we recently unveiled this fall,” says Nowell. “We’ve added a new selection of cocktails, many of which are made with house infused liquors, and a more sophisticated, yet approachable wine list,”

Cocktail updates include the Bon L’Orange, $12, with homemade spiced rum, ginger and blood orange, the Pamplemousse, $13, with homemade grapefruit vodka, Chambord, chamomile and lemon, the Vanille, $11, with homemade vanilla vodka and chai, and the Chaleur, $10, with homemade rose vodka, honey, warm apple cider and citrus. 

Nowell, formerly of the Pump Room and RL, joined the LM Restaurant Group this past summer and since brought on Maura Davis for her extensive knowledge of wine and spirits. Davis helped to develop The Purple Pig, Davanti Enoteca and Violet Hour for Francesca’s Restaurant Group. Their new additions to the wine menu include a variety of reds, whites and sparkling by the glass and bottle. Glasses range from $10 to $14 and bottles range from $42 to $320. POUTINE AND KRONENBOURG BEER SPECIAL AT TROQUET

Troquet is taking the traditional Quebec poutine and giving it a French twist. On Tuesday, September 24 the neighborhood French Bar will be hosting a special beer and poutine pairing featuring premier French beer Kronenbourg1664. Kronenbourg1664 lager utilizes Strisselspalt, a hops that is unique to the Alsace region and has been called “the caviar of hops.” The beer and poutine special will be available all day for $8.

Live Music at LM Bistro

LM Bistro is pleased to announce their new Live Music series, beginning this September. The series will kick off on Friday, September 20 with Chicago based music and comedy act Amy & Freddy and will follow with Nan Mason and Terry Higgins on Saturday, September 21.

LM’s Live Music series is coordinated by Jasper Nowell, the new General Manager at LM Bistro. Nowell, formerly the Food & Beverage Manager at PUBLIC Hotel and Captain/Dining Room Manager at RL Restaurant, is excited about the new music series “LM Bistro is proud to partner with such great musical talent and is excited to kick-start Live Music at the bistro.”   

Amy Armstrong and Freddy Allen have been performing together for more than 15 years and have garnered a large following, both in the US and abroad. The duo has produced four albums together and are multi-recipients of both the Gay Chicago Magazine “After Dark” and Chicago Free Press “Pressie” awards.

Nan Mason is a professional singer and entertainer who has done commercials, jingles and motion pictures and has performed in countless venues in the US and abroad. Terry Higgins is a professional musician and composer known for his original compositions as well as his repertoire of American jazz standards and Contemporary jazz classics.               

Live music will be performed every Friday and Saturday evening. A full lineup will be posted on the LM Bistro website.
