Randolph Street’s latest dining destination, Packing House, is now open and has been drawing in West Loop crowds since its soft opening last week. Chicagoans can enjoy three different dining and drinking atmospheres: Packing House’s main dining room, an indoor/outdoor bar featuring alfresco dining, as well as My House on the second floor and My Roof.

Dishes have been styled by Executive Chef AmandaBarnes formerly of Purple Pig and Publican. The modern American cuisine with Mediterranean influence can be seen in dishes such as Bone Marrow with a Salad of Parsley and Cilantro Dressed in Lemon with Shallots and Capers in addition to the Milk Braised Lamb Shoulder with Buttermilk Mashed Potatoes and Spring Pea Salsa Verde. “Growing up in the South, I loved pulling fresh Mediterranean ingredients into my dishes,” said Barnes. “This menu is a reflection of my flavor exploration and travels through Europe with a little homage to my Southern roots.”

The main room features a unique and private dining experience for parties of all sizes. Guests can dine in private booths with bookcases embedded in the walls or at the row of dark wood tables lit by the 3-way fireplace. The dining room also includes frames that display elaborate rotating images from local and national artists including Chicago’s own Hebru Brantley. A custom marble room divider allows guests to experience the dining space or the bar area which occasionally displays sports games.Cocktails at Packing House include the Rum Punch made with Mount Gay Black Barrel Rum, Strawberry, Blueberry, Fresh Mint, Lemon Essence and Limoata Pelligrino as well as the Packing House Sour that includes Bulleit Bourbon, House Made Apricot Marmalade, Fresh Lemon Juice, Demerara Simple Syrup and Peychaud Bitters.

The second-floor lounge is called My House and operates as a late-night lounge on weekends as well as a private event space that mixes the lavish comforts of an urban penthouse with a splash of vivacity and glamour. The rooftop lounge, My Roof, offers the city’s best rooftop refuge, with its own cocktail and food menu focused on easy-to-eat passed foods. My Roof will officially open on May 16th.
