PORKCHOP ANNOUNCES OPENING OF ADDITIONAL EXPRESS LOCATION IN CHICAGO’S LOOP

Porkchop is thrilled to announce the opening of an additional express location in Chicago’s Loop. Located at 29 E. Adams Street (on the corner of Adams and Wabash), the fast-service restaurant will serve lunch and dinner, with hopes to roll out a breakfast menu in the near future. The Porkchop Loop menu will be almost identical to the menu at Porkchop West Loop, sans liquor. The new express location will feature the same urban backwoods atmosphere, along with a full kitchen and seating for up to 24 people.

Owner Jovanis Bouargoub’s is thrilled to be bringing another Porkchop location to Chicago. Bouargoub is also introducing a new concept in 2015 called Chop, a 2,300 square foot steakhouse within the Roosevelt Collection on the Near South Side. Chop will focus heavily on higher-end dishes such as steaks, burgers, and wine.

Porkchop currently has full-service restaurants in the West Loop and Hyde Park, and another express location on Dearborn Street. Porkchop Loop will be open seven days a week, with plans to stay open until 10pm daily. For more information, please visit www.chicagoporkchop.com contact info@porkchopchicago.com.

OPENING SOON: PORKCHOP HYDE PARK

Porkchop, a restaurant and whiskey bar that dishes out an urban interpretation of a Southern backwoods experience, will open its Hyde Park location this March. Since opening in 2011, the Porkchop located on Randolph Street has established a name for itself as a neighborhood gathering serving gourmet Southern comfort food and BBQ, and featuring an innovative ‘lowbrow’ bar program with some of the world’s top whiskeys. Kenny Robinson, the Chef who oversees the current Porkchop location will continue to evolve the menu in Hyde Park to reflect the restaurant’s vision of serving creative Southern-inspired food items that can’t be found anywhere else, like sausage lollypops and fried ribs.

Porkchop’s latest destination will be open from 7 a.m. to midnight or later seven-days a week, and will feature over 100 whiskeys, a wide selection of local craft beers, and spirits from around the world. They also plan to offer whiskey slushies. The new space is reminiscent of the Randolph Street venue, complete with a wall of rustic saws, reclaimed wood tables with bolted-on bars to hold the paper towel ‘napkins’, with the addition of a stage for a live music lineup that will feature blues, country and rock – all with a bit of an edge.

Proprietor Jovanis Bouargoub, a native of Paris, describes Porkchop as a mashup of the French lust for living in the moment (joi de vivre) and the quirkiness of rural counterculture. His goal is simple – be the instigator of great times in a relaxed, unapologetically unpretentious environment.
